- Biography
- Olivier De Schutter was appointed as the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights by the UN Human Rights Council on 1st May 2020. A graduate from Harvard University (LL.M.), and University of Louvain (PhD), Olivier de Schutter is a Professor at the Catholic University of Louvain and at the College of Europe (Natolin). He is also a Member of the Global Law School Faculty at New York University and is Visiting Professor at Columbia University. From 2015 until 2020, he has been a member of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. He has been UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food from 2008 - 2014
